Perseids Meteor Shower Stargazing at 7,700 Feet

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort / Royal Astronomical Society of Canada

AUGUST 12, 2016

Join this event at the top of the world for an intimate viewing of the Perseids Meteor Shower. Go for stargazing only or sign up for the dinner option to enjoy a buffet meal before you take in the stars and meteors.

Bundle up the kids and step aboard the Golden Eagle Express for an unprecedented night adventure at the top of the mountain for an intimate viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower. Astronomer Doug Thorp, from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, will host an interpretive tour under the twinkling canvas of the night sky, to discover the wonder of the cosmos: stars, planets, globular clusters, nebulae, and galaxies! Bring a blanket, kick back and grab a tasty bite coupled with a glass of wine or a cosmic drink special! This a family friendly night not to be missed, as we look the stars and imagine the worlds beyond.

Make sure you come prepared for a cool evening (winter clothes and blankets). Average temps at 7,700 feet are 5 degrees at night, despite the warmer temperatures in the valley.
